2021 Wild Card – NFC

Wild Card Weekend Fantasy Football!

The postseason of the NFL season is here! I know for the most part the 2021 Fantasy Football Season is complete and we are all enjoying our recent championships! I know there are various playoff leagues/competitions and of course daily fantasy football to take us through the Super Bowl LVI. So, I am going to continue to on as well in hopes that it helps with your postseason decisions, in regard to Fantasy Football.

As we continue, I am looking at the first games of the Wild Card Weekend on Sunday January 16th for the NFC teams. The matchups are: Philadelphia Eagles at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; San Francisco 49ers at the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals at the Los Angeles Rams! Remember, my favorite players usually are on teams that have a Top Offense that can produce lots of Targets and Touchdowns! Let’s review who they are below in this game and if they would be a Starter, Upside Play or Sleeper for Fantasy Football!

Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Buccaneers

Starters – Jalen Hurts, Devonta Smith, Dallas Goedert (PHI). Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Rob Gronkowski (TB).

Upside Plays – Miles Sanders, Jalen Reagor, Quez Watkins (PHI). Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Giovani Bernard (TB).

Sleepers – Kenneth Gainwell, Eagles D/ST, Greg Ward (PHI). Breshad Perriman, Cameron Brate, Buccaneers D/ST, Scotty Miller, Tony Johnson (TB).

Do the Eagles still haunt Brady? Makes for an interesting story line but I believe the Buccaneers at home still find a way. These teams played earlier this season and the Buccaneers were up 3 Touchdowns before the Eagles scored a few times to get the score closer. I expect Brady, Gronkowski and Evans to lead the way for Tampa Bay. I am sure Philadelphia will make this game closer than the previous one leaning on Hurts, Goedert and Smith.

San Francisco 49ers at Dallas Cowboys

Starters – Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Elijah Mitchell (SF). Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb (DAL).

Upside Plays – Brandon Aiyuk, Jimmy Garoppolo (SF). Ezekiel Elliott, Dalton Schultz, Cowboys D/ST (DAL).

Sleepers – 49ers D/ST, Jauan Jennings, Kyle Juszczyk, Jeff Wilson Jr. (SF). Tony Pollard, Cedrick Wilson, Corey Clement (DAL).

The 49ers have been coming on and finding ways to win as of late in what felt like playoff games at the end of their regular season. Dallas certainly has the talent to get the win, but it just seems like this playoff run is the hump that the Cowboys can’t quite get over. I lean slightly toward San Francisco finding a way to get it done. I expect both teams Wide Receivers to do well in this matchup.

Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams

Starters – Kyler Murray (ARI). Cooper Kupp, Matthew Stafford, Sony Michel (LAR).

Upside Plays – Chase Edmonds, James Conner, Christian Kirk, Zach Ertz (ARI). Tyler Higbee, Rams D/ST, Odell Beckham Jr. (LAR).

Sleepers – A.J. Green, Cardinals D/ST, Rondale Moore (ARI). Van Jefferson, Cam Akers (LAR).

An exciting matchup on Monday Night to wrap up the Wild Card Weekend! Imagine the Rams are going to find a way to win as I think they have the better offense and defense. If the Cardinals pull it out, I think it will be on the back of Kyler Murray and their offense. I can’t imagine that Stafford/Kupp train stops anytime soon while the Cardinals will go how Murray goes with Ertz, Edmonds, Kirk and Green being their biggest contributors.
