Super Bowl Targets and TDs Fantasy Football

The NFL postseason has completed its Conference Championships and we are onto the Super Bowl LVI this weekend! For the most part the 2021 Fantasy Football Season is complete and we are all enjoying our recent championships! I know there are various playoff leagues/competitions and of course daily fantasy football to take us through the Super Bowl LVI. So, I am going to continue on as well in hopes that it helps with your postseason decisions, in regard to Fantasy Football.

Looking at the Super Bowl on Sunday February 13th, the matchup is the Los Angeles Rams at the Cincinnati Bengals! We have a great matchup! Remember, my favorite players usually are on teams that have a Top Offense that can produce lots of Targets and Touchdowns! Let’s review who they are below in this game and if they would be a Starter, Upside Play or Sleeper for Fantasy Football!

Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals

Starters – Cooper Kupp, Matthew Stafford, Cam Akers (LAR). Joe Burrow, Joe Mixon, Ja’Marr Chase (CIN).

Upside Plays – Odell Beckham Jr., Kendall Blanton, Rams D/ST (LAR). Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd (CIN).

Sleepers – Van Jefferson, Sony Michel, Darrell Henderson Jr. (LAR). Samaje Perine, Chris Evans, Bengals D/ST, C.J. Uzomah (CIN).

Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals Thoughts

For the Bengals I believe this game sets up similar to the previous game against the Chiefs. I envision they would like to control the game using their run game while mixing in their passing options too. The less opportunities the Rams have the better for the Bengals. Make some plays on defense when they can and that should set them up for a successful game. While I imagine the Rams to utilize their pass game a little more, but once they get a lead the Rams do like to rely more on their rushing game (to keep that lead and limit the opposing teams’ opportunities).

With the dominance of the Rams defensive line, it won’t be surprising to see the Bengals use a short screen passing game (like the Perine 41-yard TD vs the Chiefs) if the rushing attempts aren’t gaining many yards. The Rams have the better offense and defense, but the Bengals have played more of that team football this whole playoff run. I do expect the Rams to jump out to the initial lead (similar to the Chiefs) but never count the Bengals out (and we have seen the Rams give up points after having comfortable leads before). Call them the underdog, or the David taking on Goliath. It just seems the Bengals are going to continue to find a way to win. It should be a fun one, hope everyone enjoys it!
