Week 2 is complete! Saw some improvements and some underwhelming play as we wrapped up the week. How does the week look for the 2026 Fantasy Football Season?
Week 2 Takeaways
First thoughts and takeaways to the second week of the NFL season, from a Fantasy Football perspective.
- Buffalo Bills – great first game at the new stadium and Josh Allen did Josh Allen things. Sounds like DJ Moore will be back in short time but either way expect this team to make plays for your fantasy team!
- Detroit Lions – Gibbs and Amon-Ra are studs. Expecting more from Jamo does it come in Week 3?! We can hope!
- Carolina Panthers – pretty surprising and great to see this team start the season so well! The next few weeks looks like nice opportunities for these fantasy assets.
- Atlanta Falcons – will Michael Penix Jr. return soon? Here’s to hoping for most fantasy players in this offense.
- Philadelphia Eagles – DeVonta Smith breakout game! Barkley get well.
- Kansas City Chiefs – Love to see Kelce rock it along with Ken Walker continuing great things!
- Indianapolis Colts – a bummer to see Pierce go down early on in this one. Jonathan Taylor leading the charge! Kept it close but couldn’t grab the W here.
- Houston Texans – with no Nico, it looks like Dalton Schultz benefits in passing script games.
- Cincinnati Bengals – Ja’Marr Chase is back as he does most years! 21 more Touchdowns to get that record!
- New England Patriots – TreVeyon Henderson says hello…does he have more consistency this year?!
- Denver Broncos – Jonah Coleman stepped in the opportunity nicely. Will see when he gets called upon again. Hoping this is the Jaylen Waddle we get through the season!
- Jacksonville Jaguars – Bhaysul Tuten did what was expected and like his future opportunity outlook!
- Seattle Seahawks – JSN is the guy no matter the QB, fantastic game! With Jadarian Price banged up, I am interested in Emanuel Wilson. Does Sam Darnold return in Week 3?
- Washington Commanders – unfortunate to see for Jayden Daniels.
- Dallas Cowboys – CeeDee and Jake Ferguson with 2 Touchdowns, is the Pickens game next?
- New York Giants – feeling for all the Giants and Jaxson Dart fans. Hoping for fantasy value from a few yet, will see how things go moving forward.
- Los Angeles Rams – Way to go Davante Adams! Saving many a fantasy matchup on Monday Night!

Week 2 Takeaways Final Thoughts
The offenses are still working through things here in Week 2. Continue to remember Ability, Availability, Opportunity, Consistency, Advantage/Upside and Matchup for your players. Who has opportunity for Targets? Who will have the chance for Touchdowns? If you believe a player is in line for either, you know I would be interested in them!
