Divisional Round Targets and TDs Fantasy Football

The NFL postseason has completed its Wild Card round and we are onto the Divisional Round this week! I understand for the most part the 2021 Fantasy Football Season is complete and we are all enjoying our recent championships! I know though, that there are various playoff leagues/competitions and of course daily fantasy football to take us thru Super Bowl LVI. So, I am going to continue to go on in hopes that it helps with your postseason decisions, in regard to Fantasy Football.

To start, I am looking at AFC teams in the Divisional Round Weekend that starts on Saturday January 22nd. The matchups are: Cincinnati Bengals at the Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills at the Kansas City Chiefs! Remember, my favorite players usually are on teams that have a Top Offense that can produce lots of Targets and Touchdowns! Let’s review who they are below in this game and if they would be a Starter, Upside Play or Sleeper for Fantasy Football!

Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans

Starters – Joe Burrow, Joe Mixon, Ja’Marr Chase (CIN). A.J. Brown, Derrick Henry (TEN).

Upside Plays – Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd (CIN). Titans D/ST, Julio Jones, Ryan Tannehill, D’Onta Foreman (TEN).

Sleepers – Samaje Perine, Chris Evans, Bengals D/ST, C.J. Uzomah (CIN). Dontrell Hilliard, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Anthony Firkser, Geoff Swaim (TEN).

Looking like a nice matchup to start the Divisional Round Weekend. Similar to last week, game script will play a part. It lines up nicely for the Titans to do what they like to do with running the ball. Although it is a nice matchup for Burrow and his receivers to do damage as well. Are the Bengals able to get a big enough lead to have the Titans start moving away from their running game? It will certainly take a lot as the Titans have certainly seen in the past and particularly in the playoffs that a commitment to the run will benefit them greatly. I imagine Cincinnati hangs with the Titans through the game but the experience and playing their game helps the Titans get through this matchup this weekend.

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs

Starters – Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Devin Singletary (BUF). Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce (KC).

Upside Plays – Bills D/ST, Dawson Knox, Cole Beasley (BUF). Jerick McKinnon, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Darrel Williams, Byron Pringle (KC).

Sleepers – Zack Moss, Gabriel Davis, Isaiah McKenzie, Emmanuel Sanders (BUF). Mecole Hardman, Chiefs D/ST, Demarcus Robinson, Derrick Gore (KC).

This should be a fun one to finalize the AFC for next week’s Conference Championship Round games! Obviously, the Chiefs have plenty of weapons to win this game but guess what…so do the Bills! They just played a game where they scored 7 touchdowns on their first 7 drives in the playoffs. If the Bills continue to play that way, they can/will beat the Chiefs again this season! I expect both teams to let it fly and I do prefer the Bills D/ST over the Chiefs D/ST (think they have looked better late in the season but it probably has more to do with the Chiefs commitment to the run and being more patient on offense). Imagine Buffalo gets it done in this game and rides these good times to the Conference Championship Round.

Keep current with the latest injury news up until kickoff as there are plenty of moving parts. Enjoy the games and good luck as your fantasy football matchups start! Look for my Rankings as you have decisions to make for this weekend’s games! Good luck!
