2021 NFL Schedule
4 min read
The 2021 NFL Draft is complete (2021 Post NFL Draft) and now the 2021 NFL Schedule has been released! If you missed it, take a look at it 2021 NFL Schedule. Another layer or wrinkle has been added as we get slowly closer to the beginning of the 2021 Fantasy Football season.
I use strength of schedule for a player as a way to decide on selecting a player after accessing their Ability, Availability, Opportunity and Consistency. It’s certainly not an initial deciding factor if I select a player to my fantasy football team but can be helpful. Plus it was just released this week and gives those NFL/Fantasy Football conversations a little more groundwork.
Teams with a favorable start to 2021
Just like the NFL, it is great to jump out to a good start in your Fantasy Football season. You probably can still recover more often (than NFL teams) if you don’t, but a good start is preferred. Below are a few teams that I noticed have some nice/preferred matchups as they start the 2021 NFL season.
- Carolina Panthers – NYJ, NO, HOU, DAL, PHI, MIN
- Arizona Cardinals – TEN, MIN, JAX, LAR, SF, CLE
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers – DAL, ATL, LAR, NE, MIA, PHI
- Kansas City Chiefs – CLE, BAL, LAC, PHI, BUF, WSH
- Baltimore Ravens – LV, KC, DET, DEN, IND, LAC
- Los Angeles Chargers – WSH, DAL, KC, LV, CLE, BAL
- Chicago Bears – LAR, CIN, CLE, DET, LV, GB
- Philadelphia Eagles – ATL, SF, DAL, KC, CAR, TB
- Minnesota Vikings – CIN, ARI, SEA, CLE, DET, CAR
- New England Patriots – MIA, NYJ, NO, TB, HOU, DAL
To come up with the above summary I used the information below in regards to teams who have given up the most points last season (along with 4 more years of history). On the 5 year history I was able to highlight the teams on the list that were from the previous years list as well. Some teams stay on for a few years as you will see 🙂

- Detroit Lions
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Minnesota Vikings
- Dallas Cowboys
- Houston Texans
- New York Jets
- Denver Broncos
- Tennessee Titans
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Cleveland Browns

Teams likely to Give Up the Most Points in the 2021 NFL Season
Just a quick snapshot of who I anticipate team wise to give up the most points through the 2021 season. I certainly referenced the history above and mixed in some teams that may not be as strong as they were last year in regards to allowing points.
- Detroit Lions
- Dallas Cowboys
- Houston Texans
- Atlanta Falcons
- New York Jets
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Buffalo Bills
- Green Bay Packers
- Cleveland Browns
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Minnesota Vikings
Teams Bye Weeks
Along with finding some good matchups please keep in mind when your fantasy football players have their bye week. You don’t need to necessarily draft with your bye week replacement on your team but be aware of when your starters are going to have their bye weeks during the season. You can plan to pick up a week replacement ahead of time so please keep the bye weeks in mind as you go through your fantasy football season.
Bye Week | Teams |
---|---|
6 | Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers |
7 | Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers |
8 | Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders |
9 | Washington Football Team, Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks |
10 | Chicago Bears, New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans |
11 | Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos |
12 | Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs |
13 | Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans |
14 | Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts |
Always good to keep in mind where the Bye Week lands especially as you get multiple players at the same position. Again not a determining factor of who to select but something to be aware of. |
2021 NFL Schedule Final Thoughts
Now that the 2021 NFL Schedule is out we have a framework set for the NFL and Fantasy Football matchups to anticipate this upcoming year. Certainly consider this as you create your 2021 Fantasy Football teams but don’t forget to consider Ability, Availability, Opportunity and Consistency before their Advantage/Upside – Matchup against a particular team. We have taken another step closer to the start of the 2021 Fantasy Football season. Who has opportunity for Targets? Who will have the chance for Touchdowns? If you believe a player is in line for either, you know I would be interested in them!
